Fruity Loops 8 and Home Recording Equipment?

Hi

I wish to be means to jot down both guitar as well as vocals (sometimes together, a little separately) regulating fruity loops.

My spec is Windows XP Home
Realtek AC97 Audio
ASIO4ALL
Toshiba A60 laptop

I have whittled it down (being a amateur in this field) to a following requirements: –

UBS MIC (Any suggestions?…, SM58 or condenser, p.s. recording room not set up acoustically)
Guitar as well as jack leads (Tick)
External soundcard (Any suggestions?)

If use, for example, M-Audio Fast Track USB Guitar + Vocal Recording Audio Interface, which has await for ASIO, does this meant which this will still work with ASIO4ALL?

My web anxiety for a without delay above: –

(No representation dictated Ed, greatfully mislay if required)

Any suggestions upon a approach brazen would be most appreciated…

Thanks

I goal a on top of info is sufficient also…

I use Ableton Live 7 and have a Fast Track Pro hooked up via a USB port. I do not need nor use a USB mic because I have several XLR type mics and these plug directly into the Fast Track Pro. When recording guitar you may want to mic your amp if your amp sounds good. I’d recommend routing all your mic/MIDI instruments into the Fast Track. However I have an M-Audio Axiom 69 MIDI slave keyboard I plugged into the USB port of my computer and it interfaces well with my MIDI instruments, of which I have literally hundreds. If FL8 supports VST instruments there’s a site called Gersic (http://www.gersic.com/plugins/index.php?daCat=-3) that contains a zillion free VST instruments.

Good luck and kiss your spare time goodbye!
