Also, a good mic for that application would be something with a hyper-cardioid pattern like a "shotgun mic". If you get a USB interface a lot of times they come with software to record with. Try the presonus stuff or something like that. The Pro Tools MBox stuff is great too. Also, M-Audio. You need some sort of USB interface or for a laptop maybe that you can take with you.
