How do I coonect my TV’s digital audio output to my analog speakers?

digital audio, home studio basics

I paid for the D-to-A converter so which we can block the single finish in to the (plasma) tv’s digital (optical) audio outlay as well as the alternative finish in to my 10 year aged analog speakers. we get no receptive to advice during all. Do we need an amplifier of the little sort? we am perplexing to do this but shopping the receiver or dvd / blue-ray player. Thanks.
